On March 22, 2012 at about 3:00 pm Officers were dispatched to 2024 Desert Breeze Dr. SW Alb, NM in reference to a “down and out” call. Upon arrival, officers contacted several individuals near the intersection of Desert Breeze Drive SW and Spring Flower SW who advised they did not hear any gunshots nor did they have any information related to this incident.
Officers located a victim (later identified as Jeremy Trujillo) near the bike path, and another victim (later identified as Samuel Gutierrez) lying at the bottom of the arroyo near the bike path. Jeremy and Samuel appeared to be deceased. Rescue personnel were called to the scene to render aid, however both individuals were pronounced deceased.
Witnesses observed an individual passing through a walkway leading towards the bike path and arroyo. Shortly thereafter, witnesses heard what they believed to be approximately eight gunshots. A few minutes later, witnesses walked behind a residence (2024 Desert Breeze Drive SW Alb, NM) to see what happened. Witnesses located one of the victims (Jeremy) lying on the ground near the bike path. Witnesses immediately called the police to report the incident. Witnesses described the individual passing through the walkway as a light skin male, approximately eighteen years of age, wearing a white t-shirt and possibly black shorts.
Detectives obtained surveillance footage of the homicide and released the video to the local media outlets in an effort to identify the suspects. As of today, the suspects in the video have not been identified.
