Children who are selected are referred by Title 1 (homeless project.) The Crime Stoppers liaison then screens every applicant and carefully selects the participants.
During this event, the child will be picked up at their home and taken to a full breakfast with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. provided by Hotel Albuquerque. After breakfast, a lights and siren caravan will take place and head for Walmart. Each child will be given a $100.00 gift card to purchase clothes, shoes and a toy. Walmart also provides each family with a turkey and all the fixings for a Christmas dinner.
Every child receives a back pack (provided by Crime Stoppers) filled with needed items and goodies.
The child will then be caravaned to Main Event for lunch, games, bowling and fun! At the end of the day, each child is returned home and will have experienced a joyous holiday.
